Boccia UK athlete recruitment project

100AND10% was tasked with designing a campaign to support athlete recruitment for the Paralympic sport of Boccia, ahead of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

Not only did the campaign need to engage with athletes with the potential to compete at the sport’s highest level, it needed to reach out to individuals (and their friends, family, teachers etc.) who may have the attributes to compete in Boccia but may have never considered it.

At the heart of the campaign was a video, documenting the journey of one of Boccia UK’s World Class Programme athletes, Louis Saunders. 100AND10% was responsible for the video in its entirety, including storyboarding, script and interview Q&A and shoot plan, filming on location, full video edit and production.

To enhance campaign reach, digital and print assets were designed incorporating key messaging established as part of the overall campaign narrative. A landing page was also built within Boccia UK’s existing website to house the campaign content and direct people to register their interest.

100AND10% provides brand refresh for English Institute of Sport

The English Institute of Sport has recently revealed its refreshed brand, signalling the completion of an initial phase of work between the organisation and 100AND10% and opening the door to the next stages of creative work.

EIS work with some of England’s top athletes, responsible for improving their sporting performance through science, medicine, technology and engineering. This project sought to raise the profile of EIS, creating an evolved, striking and modern brand that could be utilised across different platforms.

From a creative point of view, the project, which was to be viewed as the first stage of a longer-term plan, consisted of various elements. These included the update of the existing logo, being careful not to move too far away from what was already recognised, a revised colour palette, a new family of fonts and defined rules around the use of imagery and language, all of which are detailed in a thorough set of brand guidelines.

Examples of the new brand can be seen here and also on the website of EIS – eis2win.co.uk

Rio 2016 ParalympicsGB games-time creative support

In preparation for the Sochi Winter Paralympic Games in February 2014, the British Paralympic Association commissioned 100AND10% to design a series of infographics profiling the 15 athletes competing for ParalympicsGB.

These were shared across the BPA’s social media platforms; the BPA’s marketing team also displayed hard copies of the infographics onsite in Sochi at the athlete’s village.

Following the success of the project, the BPA asked 100AND10% to support a larger digital and social campaign for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

Graphics were created for use across web, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for the 19 team announcements. During the Games, a member of 100AND10%’s design team was on-hand in Rio to produce graphics in real-time; this included daily competition schedules, individual athlete medals and records, daily news round-ups, medal table updates and athlete quotes – more than 200 graphics in total.

We engaged 100AND10% to support our digital design work for Sochi 2014 having initially seen their work with UK Sport. Having met to discuss our plans for our digital creative for Sochi we knew immediately that we had the right company to deliver the project; their ideas and the quality of their output has been completely matched by their enthusiasm for helping us achieve our vision for promoting the Winter ParalympicsGB team to a wider, more digitally focused audience. We have already requested they look at another project based on this initial work so that’s as good a recommendation as I can provide!

Tash Carpenter

Communications Manager, British Paralympic Association

The GB athletes returned home from Rio with 147 medals including 64 gold – the most won by a British team since 1988.  The team exceeded its target of 120 and finished in second place on the medal table.

ParalympicsGB remains the world-leading Paralympic team on social media with 240k Facebook ‘likes’, 165k Twitter followers and 15.3k followers on Instagram, with all channels growing by at least 40% by the end of the Rio cycle.
