Female-focused agency EMERGE launched by 100AND10% and ESRG

The first athletes to join the EMERGE team include England football vice-captain Jordan Nobbs, Commonwealth Games judo champion Nekoda Davis and four-time paracanoeing world champion Emma Wiggs.

EMERGE Sports Management has been created to work with talented female athletes to enhance their off-the-field marketing, communications and commercial success.

The new agency will work with a select group of athletes to develop their marketing and PR strategies that, aligned with their sporting success, will help build their profile and awareness and create new commercial opportunities, enhancing their long term commercial potential. The company will also support its athletes in sourcing best in class future financial planning and image rights advice.

The new company has already signed its first three athletes and supported each with the creation of individual brands, websites, show-reel videos and lifestyle photography. This investment in the athletes is designed to support the brand development of each athlete, to help brands understand more about their achievements and aspirations for the future.

England Lioness, vice-captain and Arsenal Ladies’ midfielder Jordan Nobbs was one of the first athletes to join EMERGE, alongside Commonwealth Games judo champion and multiple British Champion Nekoda Davis and four-time para-canoeing world champion Emma Wiggs; both of whom have recently been named as members of Team GB and ParalympicsGB respectively for this summer’s Olympic and Paralympic Games in Rio.

“The sports management industry is increasingly competitive and EMERGE aims to offer something different; we’re focused on a longer-term view, working closely with our clients and wide network of brands to create the right position for each and every athlete. Our aim is to work with our athletes in the longer term and help drive the professionalism and commercialisation of a group of very talented female athletes,” said Jenny Forbes, Head of Business Development for EMERGE Sports Management.

The new company is a partnership between established sports marketing agency 100AND10% and specialist finance experts and investment group ESRG Sports and Leisure.

“Our years of experience in marketing and PR provides the foundation of the business. The focus for EMERGE is to simply take our creative, communications and commercial skills and use these to support the brand development and positioning of individual athletes. This means they can focus on doing what they do best; winning medals and breaking records, while we work on maximising their off-the-field opportunities,” adds Jonathan Wilson, Managing Director of 100AND10% and Director of EMERGE.

On being one of the first to join the EMERGE team, Jordan Nobbs, England Lioness and FA Cup winner with Arsenal Ladies, said: “I am delighted to have signed with EMERGE Sports Management. The time and effort the team have already shown in creating the brand, website, photography and video has shown a real investment and I love the results. They have also presented some immediate new opportunities and I am looking forward to a positive long-term partnership.”

Tony Copsey, Chairman of the new sports management company and Director of ESRG said, “The agreement to form EMERGE is a long term commitment by ESRG and 100AND10% on a project we all believe passionately in. Women’s sport is under-represented with regards marketing expertise and athlete management, and we aim to create a real point of difference and have a positive impact for our growing list of clients.”
